A day out

So my friend mustered up an apology of sorts - incidentally, why do people say "I'm sorry, but.....", then proceed to tell you again the very thing that upset you in the first place. Pointless!! - and I tentatively accepted so things are shaky but OK I guess. Im not sure what I feel about it now because even though the apology is there, she still put those thoughts out there. Ho hum.

We had an appalling night and I definitely need to sort out a better way of co-sleeping so as to get more sleep. I think DH will be back on the floor and Im looking at ways to get a cot the same height as our mattress. Not sure quite how yet. This morning I thought we were back to the hours of crying but thankfully his initial grizzles didn't persist. We left at 9am and dropped Nathan at college then headed to visit my friend L in Gillingham, stopping off at Lidl for Christmas biscuits. We spent a lovely couple of hours, although her children are rather exuberant and energetic at times.
We got home around lunch time then spent the afternoon doing not much. I caught up with a friend and the girls looked after Lucas, then this evening he was happy to spend time playing again. Its like he is a different boy, I should jab him more often ;)
Seb got his first Reading Eggs certificate and is very happy, I also added Emma to Reading Eggs and Study Ladder, both of which do older kids programmes. This evening I am very tired and feeling a little sick so early(ish) night for me I think.

  1. Glad things are a little better. We used these to raise the height of our cot so they could sleep alongside bed but not in it and they raise it up by about six inches - http://www.completecareshop.co.uk/disability-elderly-aid/4005/elephant_feet_140mm.html

I'm glad Seb is pleased with his certificate, and that Lucas is sweeter tempered too. I'll send you some of my 3" long patchwork pins if you think they'd help?

  2. At least she apologised, it's a start!
Hope you feel better in the morning and Lucas lets you have a good nights sleep! Sending positive thoughts yur way because that's probably very unlikely to happen!
