Whirlwind Weekend - Edited.

*sigh* Im tired! Lucas does not believe in sleeping soundly at night, and he especially wont do it in his own bed. He much prefers skin to skin contact - great in summer, not so great in November, even if it is "the warmest November on record" (seriously, who measures these things!). Not only that but he wants snacks on tap, so if they aren't available he screams. Loudly.
So I've been up since 5am as Lucas loves to produce a dirty nappy(or two) at this time of day. And have been rushing around the place a bit madly so that I can get Abi up and ready for her second Maths exam today. DH has taken her as Lucas is still too restless plus Emma is having a visit for her first Science tutorial today. Instead I am sitting here praying and hoping for the best outcome. I am a tiny(huge) bit gutted that the lady who was going to do Spanish has pulled out so I need to find a tutor which is what I will try and fill my time with whilst I wait for Abi to get home.
This weekend has gone really fast. On Saturday DH took the girls to their tutoring whilst I stayed home with Seb.We ended up popping round to visit a friend then headed over to Morrisons which has recently been refurbished. Lucas was unsettled and cried most of the time so in the end we headed back and waited for DH to get home. We spent the evening sorting out Lucas' cot to make it into a 'bedside' cot. Seems easier given he spends so little time in there. Yesterday morning Seb and dh set about making the Christmas present Seb wanted to give the cats - he drew a cat house, with pictures of tools they'd need etc. Then him and dh built it from MDF
After that, a Sky installation, and a mini tantrum from me (which we are glossing over), we went into town and picked up some presents for various people from poundland, 99p shop and Wilkos. It took longer than I'd hoped so we dashed home for lunch then headed out to pick up a new (second hand) pushchair for Lucas. Its an old syle Britax one with reversible bucket seat and the lady who owned it has hardly used it so it really is as-new.
J came over to talk shop with dh when we got back so that took us to the evening which was a quiet one, for once, and an early night .
And so back to today :)

  1. Seb sounds like he's got a good practical streak and the pushchair sounds great. I always liked being able to see and talk to them (well, nearly always...)

  2. Yes he loves to make and build, I am going to get together a 'junk modelling' box I think so that he can build all he wants. PS I added a photo :)

The old pushchairs, in my opinion, were the best. They always fitted in cars, the seats kept the kids away from the fumes and could face the parent. Plus the cosytoes were always properly warm. I could rave about their greatness all day :D
