Wow, that's some serious wind we've got going on here in Somerset. We havent had that kind of weather for a while. As long as I can remember I've loved being out in the wind and have quite vivid memories of walking to school on windy days and loving the feel of the wind through my clothes; I felt like I was flying.
Wind doesnt seem to do anything to my kids, well not the girls. Seb seems to be pretty hyper, but he is ALWAYS hyper so that doesnt count.
Things here are a bit stressful after a huge car disaster. DH bought a new car, hang on, I told you all that. Anyway so we noticed the day after we bought it that there was an oil leak, we couldnt take it to the garage until Monday due to it being New Year and after they stripped it down and looked through it it seems our engine is completely knackered :( Its apparently a fault with 2.2 deisel engines on Espace's that at about 80,000 miles they go wrong and seize up). We cant even drive it because they blow up. Literally . To get a new replacement engine is £4,100 and even that will go wrong - and a design flaw means that you cant put any other engine in the chassis. After speaking to Renault they confirmed they didnt recommend replacing it and the guy who sold us it was a private owner and so it was 'sold as seen' and has a service dated only 1 week prior to our purchase giving it a clean bill of health. Basically we have lost everything we paid for it (£3,500!!!) AND dont have a car for the foreseeable future. The garage did a temporary fix on it but advised us not to drive it and to sell it quick. DH is looking for heaps of hair brained ways to dispose of the car which is not useful and would result in more trouble, but I can see why he'd be tempted. I truly don't know what we are going to do about it just yet but we cant keep it. I don't know how we'll sell it. And I dont know how we'll get another. STRESS!!!
*sigh*
Lucas still has a snotty nose. He is otherwise in good spirits though and finally has the beginnings of a tooth poking through his gum. Cute.
Nathan and I are heading for a huge collision on several issues after he informed me he might give up college but mostly he isn't here to argue with so that's on hold.
And school work has begun in earnest; my kids are thrilled -NOT!
So muddling on and getting through is what we are doing, good job I am the persevering type!
All I can send is hugs and sympathy. I've been snarling under my breath at DH for his habit of researching the life history of every model car he's so much as considered, so I won't show him this or he'll be horribly smug.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Lucas will be happier with teeth. Not sure where that leaves the breast feeding tho...
LOL, no Im wondering how long before the little angel is taking chunks out of me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sympathy.
Oh Carol. I see what you mean now about car problems - what a dilemma and an expensive one at that.
ReplyDeleteHugs from me too.
Thanks Karen :)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say what a lovely insight into your breastfeeding journey. As a mum who has used both breast and bottle I have some understanding of how you feel. Don't worry about the teeth though somehow you don't feel them when they feed. Well unless bubs decides to have a nibble but that's a different issue. Congratulation on making it to 6 months and good luck getting your car sorted..
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. Breastfeeding really has been a journey and Im hoping it'll continue.
