Exams

So here we are in 2012, Hello 2012!
I even managed to get to the end of yesterday without planning anything. That a big achievement for me but then Lucas has been particularly helpful in breaking me of my neurotic planning obsessions. However today I couldn't resist and have been thinking about the coming year.
Abi only has 19 weeks until  her French Exam, 21 weeks until Bicton is finished and only 23 weeks until her final maths exam. Then she is done and finished completely. Eeek. All this next 19 weeks will be about is French, lots and lots of french. I am going to buy her the 3rd GP book and a couple revision books.

I have also begun to make enquiries about Emma doing exams. Although we arent in a desperate hurry to work on exams (she is only 11) I wanted her to think about what options she has so that she can start to think of ideas. We ended up narrowing its all down to the possibility of the following 8: Maths and English(these are must haves) physics, chemistry, French, Spanish, Food Tech and Art. There was also some interest shown in RE and Economics but she remains undecided. We only know of one place to do food tech  and its in Wales, but it is doable. They are doing Food Tech and Art on the same day so it would mean driving up, staying over then doing lessons. There is no time limit so she could reasonably take her time. Anyway, we need to go for a visit and have a look around, speak to the teachers and then decide.  Im imagining she will take them and French at 13, her other subjects she'll begin at 13 and take at 14/15/16 depending on how fast we approach them. I am still waiting on calls from other centres to see if they accept IGCSE exams and  what the cost may be.So a busy few months and years ahead of us. Wish me luck.
