There are times even now when I still cant quite believe I have a baby. I spent the pregnancy almost in denial and disbelief; part of me never really expected a baby at the end. I sometimes stare at him and am shocked that he was born right here on my bedroom floor. Its completely surreal.
Daily I struggle with him as he is one determined, active, wilful little person and there is no mistaking his personality but he is learning and growing and changing daily and I dont ever want to forget this moment.

| Its THIS big! |
He does kisses now, open mouthed cute little kisses whilst pulling your hair. He loves to blow raspberries at you too and thinks its hilarious to pretend to kiss and blow a raspberry on you at the last second.
 |
| Now you see me! |
He loves to hug and cuddle, he goes all still and coy when you sing nursery rhymes to him, and joins in in a quiet coo-ing voice.
 |
| Here I come! |
When sitting he turns himself 360 degrees in a circle using his legs to manoeuvre himself. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and when he hears it he gets so excited. He wants to chew and bash laptops, computers, lego toys, or basically everything anyone else is holding. He wants them NOW.
 |
| Look, one handed. |
He wants to be on his feet all the time and has decided he can walk now. He wants to hold my fingers and walk around the house. He has figured out how to make his legs climb up steps whilst holding me. He loves to hold only one hand and often lets go of me altogether because he is convinced he can walk. And every time he is disappointed to discover he cant. He tries to cruise furniture but still stands on his own feet at the minute.

| Oi! Im talking to you. |
He's a wriggly fidgetty baby who literally never stops moving day and night. He hates to just sit and play, be wants to move, roll and walk.He has learnt to roll over to his front, and likes to sleep that way which worries me although he is perfectly happy and sleeps slightly better that way.
He is also trying desperately hard to put the rings on his stacking ring toy and if he succeeds(with help) He looks at you for approval and praise. He loves to 'shout' at the cats and tries to chase them.

| Raspberry, you say? |
He is eating solids pretty well and wants to eat everything and anything we eat. I struggle with alternatives to dairy and soya. And its hard trying to think of finger foods (other than fruit and veg) that he can eat. I dont want him having bread biscuits that bung him up. But he is trying meat, loves tuna, tries hard with pasta and is pretty fond of risotto.
So many things about my boy. So many things I would like to remember and capture as snapshots of time. He is 29 weeks 2 days, so nearly 7 months. Time is flying and before I know it he will be grown.
Would rice cakes be any good? Organix used to do some nice ones. I also used to make my own rusks by cutting bread thickly, spreading it with marmite and baking them in a low oven. He sounds gorgeous and I can't wait to meet him. (I love other peoples babies, but my own maternal instincts ran out years back!)
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't developed the love for them that I have but we are working on it. I indulged in some more books(surprise surprise) on finger foods and baby led weaning so hopefully some ideas will unfold for that.
