About Us

We are a home educating family from Somerset, UK. We have been home educating since April 2004 and even with initial ups and downs we have never really looked back. Over time our parenting and educational views have changed and now we could never imagine sending them back to school unless it was at their request. We like to go on outings, visit friends and listen to music and would love to have as gentle a life as possible.
Our family consists of:
Mum
Just past 30 SAHM who does the main bulk of childcare/educating and a half share of housework. I like music, art, reading, long walks, computer time, blogging and forum reading.
Dad
Dh recently started up his own business after 5 years out of work. He likes all things diy, hands on and gardening. He is a fabulous help at home and does more than his share of housework and cooking. He sporadically blogs at My Allotments and Home Life.

He makes up fab games and has a wonderful imagination.
Lucas
The newest addition to our family, born 22nd Jul, and the one who will really reap the benefit of what I have learnt both as a parent and an educator/facilitator. I cant wait for that day but in the meantime he loved to feed, sleep and poo- don't all babies. He is a bit of a miracle baby as only this time last year I was dealing with the thought of no more children and now here he is!!
Pets
We also have two cats(Willow and Tiger) and 9 chickens(whose names the children know but I don't).
